Is your quote fair?

Enter your quote details below and we'll tell you how it compares to typical prices across Ireland.

Prices are indicative benchmarks based on typical Irish projects. Your actual cost may vary based on specifics.

A deposit is normal — most Irish contractors ask for between 30 and 50 percent upfront to cover materials, especially for heat pumps and solar. That is standard practice. What matters is protecting yourself: get a written contract before paying anything, tie the final payment to completion of the work, and never pay the full amount upfront. Pay by traceable means, not cash.

If a contractor visited your home to sign the contract, you usually have a 14 day cooling-off period to cancel under EU consumer law. Note: if you ask the contractor in writing to begin work during this period, you may lose some or all of this right. Always check before signing.
